Exodus 40:38 NKJV
For the cloud of the Lord was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
Exodus 40:38 NKJV
The Israelites experienced the presence of God from a distance. God's presence protected them, sheltered them, delivered them and provided for them.
Such a glorious atmosphere of His presence, yet they could not enjoy the fullness of His glory because of unbelief. They could not retain the blessings because they functioned under a slave mentality and are always in an attitude of needing something when they live in the provision of Almighty God.
But today we not only have the way made for us to live in God through Christ, we also have the Creator of the world living in us in His fullness.
The people of God in the Old Covenant could not have such priviledges. They desired but could not have what we have today in Christ Jesus.
One of the main things that caused them not to live in the blessings that God has prepared is not their sins, not their lack of sacrifice, but unbelief.
They could not accept the new way of life, living in the abundance of God. The new way of thinking is according to God's image and according to His glory.
Today we have God living in us. Not just the presence of God but God himself dwells in every believer who believes in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.
But if our way of life is of the slave mentality, of bondage and lack, then we will not be able to live life free in God's goodness.
It is important that we choose to live according to what Christ has provided for us. Choose to live like a son or daughter of God who is blessed with every spiritual blessing.
Today, we don't just carry the presence of God, but we carry God wherever we go. When we align ourselves in His likeness, we will produce His fruits every day.
Let us take this unmerited favour and blessings that God has given to all of His children without partiality. Start to live and display Him every day.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
