Ephesians 4:31 NKJV

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.

Ephesians 4:31 NKJV

As a child of God, we are a born-again believer and a new creation who lives in the kingdom of God. We live under the authority and power of God.

Our King Jesus has given and established His word for us to live in. He set His principles that lead us all to walk in Him, move in Him and have our being in Him.

Therefore, the characteristics of the fallen nature which has been crucified with Christ on that cross need to be put away. That which we used to practice needs to be changed with the new practices that reflect His word.

Our mind and our carnal self are to be renewed to the new government which Christ has brought to us. We need to constantly bring our mind and heart into alignment with Christ our Saviour.

By speaking who we have become in Christ, we will eliminate doubt, fear and unbelief from our lives. This propels us to start to live in the newness of life in Christ.

Bitterness is holding on to what people have done to us higher than what God has done for us. Bitterness is holding to our carnal self instead of living our spirit-filled life.

This scripture highlights the fruit of the flesh but we are to reflect the fruit of the Holy Spirit that is within us.

We need to take notice of what is coming out of us. Then we will know what has taken root in us. Then we need to start planting the right seed which is what Christ has done for us.

Once we keep planting the seed and watering it and cultivating it throughout our entire lives, it will grow into a tree which will bless everyone in our lives.

Let us start by planting the image of Christ, standing on the foundation Jesus has laid and live in the abundance of His grace.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
