John 4:32 NKJV

But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.”

John 4:32 NKJV

After Jesus ministered to the Samaritan, the disciples arrived with food, but Jesus said He had food to eat, of which the disciples did not know.

We know through the scriptures that Jesus is meant to do His Father's will and finish it. In other words, Jesus spoke that just as a physical body cannot survive without physical food, so the spirit man cannot survive without spiritual food.

However, the physical food is to be taken in but the spiritual food is to be taken out. Physical food is to be consumed for the body to grow and be satisfied but the spiritual food is to be poured out for the spirit man to grow and be satisfied.

Food for our spirit man is to be doing the will of our Lord Jesus Christ. The more we obey and fulfil God's divine plans, the more we become mature in the things of God.

Every food that we take in is meant for us to grow. It is meant to strengthen our muscles, give energy and give us complete balance for growth.

In the same way, every word of God is Spirit and they are life. God's word is meant for us to grow into maturity as supernatural beings created in the image of God.

There are all kinds of things today that we call food. Some are very good and give such a wonderful balance to our growth, but there are also all kinds of food that are very toxic to our bodies and will cause problems to our health.

Eating the wrong food can cause harm to our natural body, and so can eating the wrong spiritual food cause spiritual stagnancy and poison our growth in Christ.

Therefore, it is important that we remain in what Christ has finished for us and continue to feed on the provision Christ has placed in us.

Let us keep feeding our spirit man by doing the will of the Father through Christ our Lord.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
