I Corinthians 15:2 NKJV
by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
I Corinthians 15:2 NKJV
The gospel Paul preached to the Corinthians is the foundation of their faith.
The death, burial and resurrection of Christ are the complete work Christ has established for all mankind to be saved, healed, delivered and to be seated in the heavenly places in Christ.
Faith in Christ is not a matter of observation, but it is about living the new life in Christ every day. To put on Christ also means to put off self, not to stand on our carnal self but in God.
Paul wrote this message to warn the people not to let this precious gift of God slip away from our lives but to hold fast by living it out.
To hold fast means to continue to hold. It means to live life continuously by possessing the Word and to take every action to live by it. Therefore, it is not a passive life, but one that actively involves changing our ways of life from the old to the new in Christ.
The enemy knows that once we get hold of the truth of the complete work of Christ, it will make all of the enemy's plan of no effect.
The weapon that was formed against us will not prosper and will have no influence on our lives. Therefore, we must hold fast to the complete work of Christ, which is that Jesus died for us once and for all, was buried for us once and for all, and was resurrected for us once and for all.
It is finished, it is done and it is given. Now it is up to every believer to hold fast to live life as one who is complete in Christ.
Let us be people who will reflect Christ's complete work, people who will shine His glory and sound the trumpet of victory in our everyday living.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
