Acts 4:8 NKJV

Acts 4:8 NKJV

After the healing of the lame man by Peter and John, they were arrested not by the Roman authorities or the people who don't believe in God, but by the leaders who hold the word of God highly.

Such is the religious spirit that will block the pure manifestation of God's glory and power.

Peter, on the other hand, being filled with the Holy Spirit, began to speak with such boldness and conviction.

The Greek word for "filled" is pleroo, which means to fill, complete, and is a state of being empowered.

This does not mean Peter was empty before this and then got filled later. Instead, this word means Peter is in the state of God's power, Peter is empowered to be the representative of God at all times, continually.

So Peter spoke as one who is empowered by the Spirit of God and not as men; therefore, his words surpass all the knowledge and understanding of the religious leaders.

The rulers of the people and elders of Israel had no clue of the glory of God that had descended on God's children on the day of Pentecost.

Those who go by rituals will continue to wait, continue to ask, continue to judge and try to stop the movement of God but those who go by the Spirit of the Living God will continue to manifest God's power in setting the people free, save souls, heal the sick, casting out the devils, raise leaders and preach the kingdom of God.

Do we know that we are made to be in a state to give and release the power of God? That is our new life in Christ. The old life is a life of waiting, pleading and begging.

Those who live according to the old covenant will have a lot of excuses to hibernate, procrastinate and blame it all on God and on His timing.

While souls all over the world are lost and heading to eternal condemnation, the church is still waiting for God's timing.

Let us be awakened, stir ourselves up in the Holy Spirit, build our inner man and release the life changing power that is within us through the Name of Jesus.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
