I Corinthians 1:2 NKJV

To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

I Corinthians 1:2 NKJV

When Paul addressed the church, his greetings reflected who they were in Christ. The first thing before addressing the issues and cultivating gifts, Paul reminded them of who they had become.

Paul impressed upon the believers that they are not going to be sanctified but have already been sanctified people of God. This position elevates believers to a position of victory.

The word 'sanctified' also means set apart, made holy or consecrated. It speaks of all who are in Christ have been made holy.

Religion tries to be holy but having a relationship with Christ our Lord brings us to the position of holiness. Therefore, we are called, as Paul says, people who have been sanctified.

The word called to be saints also means called to be holy. This knowledge is so important to behold in our lives as believers in Christ so that we will never lose our position.

If we divert our mind and our beliefs from HAVE BEEN MADE sanctified, holy and set apart to trying to become holy, sanctified and set apart in our position in Christ, we give space to satan to deceive us.

That is what satan is doing in the church. Most of Paul's letters were not addressed to non-believers but to believers who try to work to become or are trying to mix both work and grace.

The only work we are called to is to work the grace that God has placed in every believer. The grace of living in God's pure holiness, living in the grace of His authority and power.

People who are sanctified conduct their lives differently from those who are trying to be sanctified. Those who have been made holy think differently from those who are trying to be holy.

It is a different platform altogether, from a kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of Light. They both are totally opposite to each other.

We HAVE been raised by Jesus to sit with Him on another platform called divine. His own nature and in His own power.

Let us lift ourselves up in our thoughts, mind and heart that we are sanctified, holy and set apart to manifest God's kingdom in and through our lives.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
