James 5:11 NKJV
Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.
James 5:11 NKJV
James spoke about patience, to have the spirit of endurance and perseverance in serving the Lord. The promise was sure but to receive it is to hold on to the promises till the end.
Job knew that God is faithful no matter what happened to him. Though he recognised that the calamity that came upon him was because he feared and gave room for the enemy to come in.
But Job held on to the One who holds everything and received according to God's richest blessings.
James taught us that perseverance and endurance are part of our walk with God. He encouraged us that the result of our expected end is sure. But we need to hold on to the promises no matter what comes our way.
Our God is not just compassionate but VERY compassionate and VERY merciful. Very compassionate in Greek is "polysplagxnos" from two words many and from the innermost being.
This speaks about the depth of God's compassion and the depth of His mercy. God is not casual concerning His children.
He gave His utmost best so that His children can live in God's best so that our reflection will not be of an earthly dimension but one that is of heaven.
James said, he counted them blessed who endured. Whatever we do, we do it unto the Lord and with endurance.
We all will be tested, trials will come, challenges will surface, but we must remember that we have overcome them in the spirit through Christ and we walk through it boldly until God's word manifests in our lives.
Therefore, fight the good fight of faith, holding on to the eternal promises till the end.
Let everything that we do, we do it in an excellent spirit unto the Lord and see the blessings flow in every area of our lives and through our lives to others.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
