Acts 7:31 NKJV

Stephen addressed the crowd by revealing the things that have taken place and the deliverance of the people of God that has come to pass.

This verse tells about Moses. He dwelt in the land of Midian, and he observed a bush burning, and he drew near and heard the voice of the Lord.

Moses, under the authority of God, delivered the Israelites from the power of Egypt and brought them out to meet with the living God.

First Moses observed a phenomenon that took place. Observations did not give him any results, but when Moses drew near, he heard the voice of God that delivered the people out of bondage.

Moses climbed the mountain to hear the voice, but today the voice of God is speaking in our hearts, and God, the Holy Spirit Himself, is dwelling in us.

Many still observe Him, observe the word and have the knowledge of His plans but God wants us to draw near to Him and to carry His assignments to free His children in the world.

The Greek word for draw near is to look closely, to behold. When someone is stepping aside to look closely, their whole attention is driven to find out what is happening there.

In this process, there are no personal agendas, not justifying our desires and beliefs but pure focus to know what is happening there.

When we seek God, it is important that we don't seek Him just for something we want, or seek Him for a need, but to seek Him to know Him and to be drawn into knowing Him personally.

What Moses heard was not about his situation, not about his needs and not about what Moses desired. But what Moses heard was the heart of the Father for His children to be delivered.

We have to turn aside from our own personal needs, our personal desires and our personal agendas and turn our hearts, minds and strength towards God to know Him.

When we hear God from that place, we can be confident that lives will be liberated, set free and blessed to live out Christ.

Let us switch off the voices of our desperate needs, our longings and set our face on the Lord and our hearts to His so that we will be directed according to His heart and to His will.

The time has come for His glory to be revealed in a powerful way through His children who seek Him.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
