I Chronicles 29:3 NKJV

Moreover, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, my own special treasure of gold and silver:

I Chronicles 29:3 NKJV

David is known as a man after God's heart not because he lived a perfect life but because He always highly esteem God above everything else.

When he was confronted with the sin that he committed, though he had the power as king to do what he liked but submitted and turned to the Lord for God's mercy.

David's affection and love for God made him to set aside his treasures to build God's temple. For David, it is more than just a duty, more than responsibilities, for David is loving His God Almighty.

Something happens to those who love God when we begin to see God's kingdom and the needs to advance to spread the good news.

It propels us to go far and beyond above the average sacrifice. The love for God always stirs us up to contribute towards His purpose.

In the early church, there was no instruction to sell houses, lands for the expansion of the kingdom. But the people did just that, selling what they had and brought to the apostles feet.

That means to help them go to places to preach the gospel of Christ. The church grew strong and spread across the nations.

That is because it is propelled by their love for God. When the love for God grows cold, we take our eyes off His work and needs and will be focused on other things.

We all need to be awakened to love God with all our hearts, mind and strength so that we can be united, strong in spreading the gospel together.

There is so much to do, the work is great but together with the love of God, love for His kingdom, we can and we shall spread the good news of the gospel to the world.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
