I Timothy 6:14 NKJV
that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing,
I Timothy 6:14 NKJV
Paul taught Timothy to keep preaching, teaching the fullness of Christ, fight the good fight of faith and remain in God's purpose.
To keep these commandments means to keep the teachings of Jesus and to do everything that reflects the image and the character of Jesus.
The word without spot in Greek is "aspilos", described as a garment free from permanent marks or blemishes.
This is a divine life according to the image of God and not attainable by any effort of man.
This state of life can only be lived in Christ Jesus. This is the pure life Jesus offered to all who would believe in Him.
This is the reason Jesus is the ONLY WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE. There is no other way for mankind to live in the state of holiness except to live in Christ.
Paul said to Timothy, his spiritual son, "Don't depart from living in Christ.", teaching people to live in Christ and to raise leaders who would do the same.
This is a race not only against time but against religious beliefs, against self-centered lives and against the system of the world.
This fight is not just against the works of satan and sin but also against all who would stand against living in the fullness of Christ and want to mix it with the efforts of man.
This is the pure life of Jesus that we are called to live. Christ is our provision, our source and our all in all. We have nothing without Him and we have nothing lacking in Him.
Let us hold fast our confession of Christ and His fullness that has been made available to us by the resurrection of Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
