Paul who affirmed what Christ has done and given to all believers right at the beginning of this chapter is not suggesting that they have to ask God to give them the spirit of wisdom and revelation.

For God has given all of Himself to all believers, His fullness has been deposited in everyone who believe but the knowledge of what they have received must not just be an information but life- transforming truth they should live by.

Therefore, his prayers was that the believers eyes of understanding would be opened to behold what is rightfully theirs.

The passion translation ends this verse by saying that He would impart to you the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know him through your deepening intimacy with him.

Where it highlighted the responsibility of believers to deepen their relationship according to what Christ has given to them.

This leads every believer to focus on developing all that God has given to us according to verse 3, that this knowledge of the fullness of God may be revealed through every part of our lives.

God have given to us His Holy Spirit to reveal all that is of God that is in us. So that we will walk in the enlightenment as children of God.

Let us develop our relationships with God our Father, our Lord Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit.
