He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.

David can always count on God no matter how hopeless the situation may be. He has seen God delivered him from many situations, given him victory when he should have lost and lived when he should have died.

David knew the covenant God has given to His people and they can count on it if they obey His word.

Today, we live in a greater covenant that is established by Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. It is far superior than the old.

The new covenant was established by Christ's obedience to His Father, He walked on the earth on behalf of all mankind, stayed pure, holy and gave His life for all to live in His victory.

Unlike the old covenant, the new covenant places each one in victory, in health, in peace, in wisdom, in understanding, in love and IN GOD.

David knew how to live under the covenant he had received. We need to know and begin to live under this superior covenant God has established for all mankind.

We have to leave the old in order to embrace the new. It cannot be mixed with both or else it will not work. Just like the new wine cannot be put into an old wineskin.

Let us shift our thinking, enter in to what has been prepared by Jesus and start living in the abundance our Father have prepared for His children.
