Hebrews 5:5 NKJV
So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him: “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.”
Hebrews 5:5 NKJV
Jesus Christ did not need to glorify Himself; He simply obeyed His Father and fulfilled all that the Father had planned before the foundation of the world.
It was in the Father's approval, the Father's appointments, and the Father's provision that Jesus walked by His obedience.
Jesus was appointed to be the everlasting priest so that those who trust Him will enjoy everlasting life. For all the priests before Jesus died and remained dead until Christ came and led a procession into everlasting life through His priesthood.
The highest glory for Christ is His identity in His Father in Heaven. When Christ lived according to His Father's plan, He was crowned with that glory.
We are all purposed by God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ and by the power of His Spirit before the foundation of the world to be conformed to His Son Jesus.
Our glory is to be living in oneness with Christ. That glory manifests when we start to walk in obedience according to what Christ has accomplished for all mankind.
The full effect of the glory of God in our lives lies in obedience, by disciplining our flesh to live by our spiritual identity.
We have become children of the living God by faith in Jesus. Therefore, as Christ walked in obedience, so must we walk in obedience to experience the effect of His glory in our lives.
We see the effects on Peter, Paul, and the believers of the early church. They walked in the divine dimension just like Jesus.
All provision has been made by our Father in heaven. Therefore, let us walk in Him, live in Him, and have our being in Him.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
