Luke 4:3 NKJV

“And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.””

Luke 4:3 NKJV

When Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit to be tempted, the first temptation satan used was what Jesus was going through physically.

After 40 days of fasting, it is obvious that Jesus would be hungry. The enemy, satan, used what Jesus was going through physically by asking him to turn the stone into bread.

There is no sin in turning the stone into bread but to do it out of doubt is sin.

For the devil said “IF you are the Son of God.”

Jesus can turn the stone into bread without doubting His position or identity as the Son of God.

It almost sounded like the truth but the devil added IF to shift Jesus from being who He is to proving that he is the Son of God by His effort.

The devil knows if he can shift our thinking to become holy (no one can become holy by their effort), then we will always live in sin.

The truth is Jesus presented each of us in Him as HOLY and BLAMELESS.

The lies satan has brought to the church are to get the church to pray, beg, and cry out to God to give them what they already have.

Therefore, it sounds like a noble prayer, sincere yet it discards what Christ has established in us.

Therefore, the prayer of FAITH is a prayer that believes everything Christ has done.

Let us bring ourselves into alignment with what Christ has established and stand firm in Him.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
