Matthew 25:5 NKJV

But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

Matthew 25:5 NKJV

Many are very familiar with the parables of the wise and foolish virgins that Jesus talked about. One of the many aspects of the foolish ones was that they were not being persistent with what they were called to do.

In this case, to be prepared ahead of time to receive the bridegroom when he comes. But these foolish virgins have let their guard down and have gone to sleep.

When the time came to meet the bridegroom, they went out to get some more oil and missed the opportunity to meet the bridegroom.

If we are not prepared and are not persistent, we will not present ourselves well, miss the opportunity, and even miss the best that was meant for us.

We are to be ready spiritually by living out the gift of God that is in us. God has filled us to the fullness with His Spirit and has made us the light to shine His glory in this world.

We are to shine at all times till we meet Him, which means to remain in the condition Jesus has presented us before our heavenly Father.

We are blessed in Christ, clothed with His robe of righteousness and made holy by His own precious blood. The believers are no longer concerned about whether we have the oil to last but it is about whether we can be persistent to stand in the finished work of Christ till the end.

Christ has filled all we need, all we need to do is to walk the journey with His oil and provision consistently.

We must not let our guard down to any other things but have faith in Christ alone, by building ourselves up in the Holy Spirit with everything that Christ has established in us.

Let us be persistent in living out this beautiful and powerful life that Christ has given unto us.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
