Mark 14:4 NKJV

But there were some who were indignant among themselves, and said, “Why was this fragrant oil wasted?

Mark 14:4 NKJV

This woman came with a grateful heart and anointed Jesus by breaking an expensive alabaster jar of perfume.

Her act was not only a grateful gesture but also a prophetic act, anointing Jesus before His death on the cross.

Unfortunately, one of the disciples of Jesus was not in agreement with what this woman did with her own wealth.

Interestingly, the good deed of this woman can cause such heartache to Judas. Religious people cannot see beyond the natural reasoning.

What the woman did to Jesus is very spiritual. She knew that her expensive perfume was no match for what she had received from Jesus - love, acceptance, and restoration.

When we give unto the Lord, many may question, many will find it hard to believe that people would give towards the work of God and would even be willing to lose everything.

People who give like this woman usually have concluded that the value they have in Jesus is far above any other value out there in the world.

Each one of us needs to evaluate what is the most important thing in life and work towards honouring God in every aspect of our lives.

Let us give our best unto the Lord. Let our time, talents, and our resources bring glory and praise to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
