III John 1:4 NKJV
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
III John 1:4 NKJV
John wrote to Gaius, expressing his thoughts about the spiritual growth of his spiritual children. It gives John such joy to see Gaius not only believing the truth but also that the truth is revealed through his daily living.
As an elder or spiritual father, John's achievement is to see his spiritual children flourish and display Christ.
This should be the heart of every leader who pours out on their spiritual children the best of God and to see them grow to their full potential.
This will remove every form of jealousy, envy, pride, and self-centredness from a leader. As their heart is to see them do better than what they have achieved.
For Jesus Himself said greater work than this you will do. Showing us an example that we as leaders don't hold people down but lift them to grow to a greater height in Christ.
This removes us from having a competitive mindset to a kingdom mindset, to see God's kingdom flourish everywhere.
To walk in truth means that they live according to Christ-likeness and according to the principles of God's kingdom.
Let us all have the same mind as Christ, to help and nurture one another to live according to the perfection that our Father in heaven has set for us.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
