John gave us insight into how the true love of God will manifest His character and will not display the wickedness of satan.

John gave us an example of Cain and Abel. It was not really about the physical offerings that they brought unto the Lord even though that spoke many things but more than that, it is about the condition of the heart.

The result of what was inside Cain's heart was revealed when he killed his own brother. It was pride, jealousy, and a self-centred attitude that caused his offering to be rejected.

Obedience is better than sacrifice because real obedience will be carried out because we love God and not because it is a duty.

Those who carry the true love of God do not do things for their own benefit nor for their ego but they will give their life for one another and not try to steal away from them.

Our works will show who we are manifesting, who is the king living inside of our hearts and our life here on earth will be the book that everyone will read and see.

Therefore, we are to treasure God's word in our hearts, know Him, and let our inner image be changed by the renewing of our mind.

It is important to know who we listen to, what we allow into our lives, and check does it looks like Jesus and His love?

Whatever we hear, if it does not display Christ, it is most likely not from God.

Therefore, we must be vigilant to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying. Filter that external voice with the internal voice of the Holy Spirit.

Let us make sure everything we take in is not stirred up by emotions, self-gratification, or pride but it reflects the same love we have received from Christ Jesus our Lord.
