I Corinthians 3:5 NKJV

Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one?

I Corinthians 3:5 NKJV

Paul talked to a group of believers who were living like everyone else in their society. They were looking for status to highlight themselves by associating with prominent people.

Indeed, Paul and other ministers were outstanding, powerful, and influential for the kingdom of God. We do not discredit their dedication and effort for what they have done.

But the believers who were not mature were always looking to associate themselves with prominent people or well-known people to elevate themselves to importance.

Their carnality has robbed away their spirituality and the truth. For the same power and the same Holy Spirit in them all to work the same work they have seen.

The moment we take pride in associating with people, we have taken our eyes off Jesus, who is better and the best of all the world's best prominent people.

No one can match or even dare to come close to Jesus and His glory, yet many don't even give attention to Him who lives in us.

Many miss out on the supernatural life because their eyes are set and their hearts are taken by earthly importance.

We should see ourselves as one who carries the Creator of the world, the most powerful and influential Person who can create things when there is completely nothing.

To boast in Jesus is to be grateful to be His children, grateful for all the inheritance we have received as His children.

When we really know who we have on the inside, we don't really need to be puffed up because we know some influential people.

It is good to have spiritually mature people around us who point us all to Jesus and to live like Him but never elevate them.

Let us be grateful and thankful for Jesus, who by His Spirit has made us His dwelling place.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
