Mark 6:9 NKJV
but to wear sandals, and not to put on two tunics.
Mark 6:9 NKJV
Jesus called His disciples to Himself, sent His disciples two by two to go, and gave them power over unclean spirits.
Jesus called the disciples to Himself to let them know from where the power comes from and to give them the WORD so that they can execute the commission Jesus gave to the disciples.
Then Jesus told them not to worry about daily provision for themselves and not to take anything to provide for themselves.
Because Jesus wants to teach them to know that their daily provision is taken care of. Not to carry extra to weigh them down for their journey, but to travel light.
Even their clothes and personal needs are taken care of so that they can focus on doing what Christ has called them to do.
When we know by inspiration, by knowledge, or by His Spirit that God has called us to do something, we must not worry about the provision for the journey, provision for the task to be completed, or to solve an impossible situation.
For in Christ all of those needs are covered and provided for. We must learn just to receive it with thanksgiving.
When the disciples came back, none of them gave a bad report; none shared about their lack, but all of them gave praise for the power that flowed out of them in a powerful way.
There were no prayer meetings to pray and ask God for provision, ask God to cover them, to protect them, and no prayer for a double portion of anointing for the work of the ministry.
For in the WORD Jesus asked the disciples to go, in that WORD consists all their daily provision, their clothes, the power, the protection, the anointing, and everything else that is needed to fulfil His purpose.
Let our confidence be so secure in the WORD we have received in Christ so that we can boldly go out to do His work.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
