Thessalonians 2:14 NKJV

For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans,

I Thessalonians 2:14 NKJV

The early church did not have the teachings of Jesus in a book and there is nothing that they had as writings except the truth of they have heard, seen and IMITATED.

The early church preached the gospel with their actions and lifestyles more than standing and preaching from a written book.

The word was written in their hearts and is manifested through their daily life. Imitating means to copy,

The scriptures here talked about the church suffered the same as the disciples. This is so because they were living the same life professing Jesus Christ is Lord.

This means their culture have changed, their lifestyle have changed, their priorities have changed and their daily routine have changed.

They are a new creation, a holy people set apart living as children of God and as citizens of heaven. No wonder the believers were so zealous for God. Bringing their resources to the disciples feet for the work of the ministry.

We need to come back to living like Jesus, speaking like Jesus, living as citizens of heaven, imitators of God as His dear children.

When we start to live like that, the power of the gospel becomes a reality in our lives. We become the reflection and the epistle for people to see and believe in Christ our Lord.

If it has been lived like that before, it can be lived like that today. We need to believe and be like Jesus everyday.

Let us work on the salvation we have received from Jesus Christ our Lord, immitate Him and let our life become a book that others can read.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
