Nehemiah 1:9 NKJV

but if you return to Me, and keep My commandments and do them, though some of you were cast out to the farthest part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there, and bring them to the place which I have chosen as a dwelling for My name.’

Nehemiah 1:9 NKJV

Nehemiah prayed and sought the Lord for His mercy to hear the people and to forgive their sins. He prayed that the people's negligence towards God and His house be forgiven.

Here, Nehemiah is quoting the scriptures of God's promises where it shows mercy to those who would turn to Him.

Until Christ, no one was constant in living up to God's righteousness. Christ fulfilled this promise by holding up all the law and the prophets till the end.

Therefore, now in Christ all are invited to live in forgiveness, in His love, as an accepted beloved of God and an heir of His kingdom.

Christ has brought us into His dwelling place so that we can live in His fullness. Nehemiah had a heart towards the house of God; his passion grew into action, and he rebuilt the temple of God.

Today, our hearts are to be filled with gratitude towards Jesus Christ who has brought us into Him and in His fullness.

Our lives are to be actively involved in cultivating all that God has put into them. For Nehemiah, it is about rebuilding the temple.

For us, it is about saving His children from eternal death. By sharing the good news with the world, healing the sick and setting people free.

Let everything within us live out Jesus every day, empowering each other in the truth and in love.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
