Hebrews 4:15 NKJV

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 4:15 NKJV

Jesus Christ took on the full form of a human, its rights, its influence, and its authority. This makes Him able to go through life here on earth as a human.

Therefore, as our high priest, Jesus can sympathize with all humanity. The word sympathized in Greek is explained as to "suffer with" or to "feel with".

Jesus had the capacity to suffer, to come under pressure, to come under challenges, to sin, and a freedom of choice just like any human being.

Jesus also had the capacity to be aroused in His five senses, and was vulnerable to the impact of betrayal, rejection, pain, and temptations.

As fully human, Jesus was exposed to all the elements of temptation but did not fall into sin. This is so important for us as believers to know.

Jesus Christ walked free from sin as a human being with the power of God's Holy Spirit so can we as His children. Once Jesus was baptised in water and filled with the Holy Spirit, He conquered sin and defeated death.

Jesus defeated satan by not sinning and died on the cross for all humanity as a sinless offering so that today we who live in Christ can walk free from sin and death.

As Jesus is, so are we in this world. Jesus did not sin nor fall into satan's traps. So we too can live as Christ lived, walk free from sin and overcome every temptation.

All things are possible to those who believe. We were once sinners saved by grace, now we are saints empowered to live in that grace.

Let us lift our eyes, minds and our hearts to see the power of Christ that is within us and overcome everything that comes our way.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
