Mark 4:19 NKJV
and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
Mark 4:19 NKJV
Jesus explained the parable of the sower and the deceitfulness of riches, which gives false security and hope because it is not permanent.
Deceitfulness is something that looks like, feels like and it is something very close to the truth. It gives a sense of security and assurance but will fail at the test of time.
People give their time and efforts to gain riches as a security for their future but time has proven that situations can wipe away all the wealth in a situation.
We are choked with the plans of the enemy the moment we put our trust in material things. We have been derailed from the truth when Christ's finished work is not our firm foundation.
Don't give in just because it sounded right; we must make sure it is Jesus, and on His truth alone we shall stand.
Keeping our lives in alignment with the finished work of Christ will strengthen our stand in Christ and expose the deceit of satan when it comes.
Jesus never said that riches are evil, but the deceitfulness of riches is evil. This means God wants His children to prosper in the truth financially and spiritually.
When we as a church prosper, we can be the provider to those who are in need, to clothe the poor and to feed the hungry.
Let us all prosper in the truth. Prosper in all that Christ has done and in all that He has finished.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
