Ephesians 4:14 NKJV
that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,
Ephesians 4:14 NKJV
The reason parents guide their children is that children are not mature enough to know what is good and what is to be avoided. As a result, children are fed to grow to maturity.
As we grow into maturity, we take responsibility for our actions, make decisions in life, follow the right path, and succeed in life.
Paul is saying that we should not be like a child when it comes to our faith in Jesus. We are to trust in all that Christ has accomplished for all mankind.
Many believers are still like children who take everything that comes their way. This is causing them to believe whatever people say without looking at what Christ has done for them.
The entire word of God points to Jesus. His first coming, His life on earth, His death, His resurrection, and His second coming. If we don't grow in Christ, we will be taking in things that are not of Christ.
We must understand that every step has its own principles and is divided into the two main covenants. One of the old and one of the new. One serves under the shadow and one serves in Christ.
The old covenant is to help us to come out from sin and the new covenant is to live in God's righteousness. These are two different kingdoms, one to live as people of the earth and another as citizens of heaven.
Therefore, we cannot live and grow into maturity if we keep mixing the two together. We must leave the old pattern of the sin nature and be transformed into God-consciousness.
Let us put on Christ.
Don't wear the old garments that project the power of sin.
Instead, manifest the righteousness of God daily as we walk as children of light.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
