Mark 1:4 NKJV

John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Mark 1:4 NKJV

In order for the new covenant to be established by Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. God needed John the Baptist to make a way for His first coming.

John the Baptist was known as a prophet who is called to prepare the way for Christ our Saviour to come.

It is very important that we take note that God did not use the existing system, the law and the old system that was already in place.

Under which the old covenant was to function and be established in the lives of the people who believed in Yahweh.

Instead, God needed a new voice calling people to repentance so that they can see and receive the Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Repentance means to TURN or to have a CHANGE OF MIND. This is so significant because without the changing of mind, people would not be able to see the fullness of Christ and all that He has established for all mankind.

As the word of God says in 2 Corinthians 3: 14 that until today when Moses is read, the veil remains unlifted. For the veil is lifted when one TURNS to the Lord.

Therefore, after reading the word of God, whether it is from the old testamant or from the new testamant, we always have to bring everything back to Christ and what He has established.

We need to see, hear, apply and do everything through the foundation Christ has laid for us. Many still want to hold on to the old system above the new but it will only give us the glimpse instead of living in His fullness.

Let us build our lives upon the foundation Jesus has laid for us and start constructing our minds with the new system, as a citizen of heaven and a child of the living God.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
