I Thessalonians 4:5 NKJV

not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God;

I Thessalonians 4:5 NKJV

Action speaks of our identity. It manifests what we have believed and practised. Actions carry a message without sound that reflects the faith that we have anchored in.

Paul highlighted that we who really believe in Jesus ought to manifest the characteristics of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The reason some Thessalonians believers manifested the passion of lust is because they have been feeding themselves with the pagan religion that involves immorality as a lifestyle of worship.

Paul taught the believers to start to feed themselves as one who have been redeemed by the Lord.

Paul showed them that they are born again into a new nature, a new kingdom, a new government with a new culture that resembles heaven.

Their action should reflect Christ and His finished work. This means walking in victory and not be enticed by the lust and passion of the flesh but to live in the spirit.

We cannot mix our old religion with Christ which many culturally rooted people do. It distorts the very image of God and His kingdom.

It requires total denial of the ways of the past and embracing the precious new life in Christ Jesus to live as a believer.

We must make an intentional move to live in the new kingdom that Christ has established with all of our heart, mind and body.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
