Romans 6:7 NKJV
For he who has died has been freed from sin.
Romans 6:7 NKJV
One short, profound statement that Paul made to point out that the wages of sin, which produce death, have been dealt with for eternity.
If we confess Jesus is our Lord and Saviour, we have come into agreement that we HAVE died with Him. Therefore, we also come into agreement that we have been raised to life in Him.
Sin is no longer something that believers spend time talking about, trying to avoid, or trying not to fall into. It should be something that believers have already conquered and are moving on to living in the resurrection power of God.
Believers should spend time working on how to live the victorious life that Jesus has already provided for all mankind.
By doing so, we give no room for satan to use it to occupy our minds. If satan has no seed to germinate in our mind, then there would be nothing for satan to work on to produce in us.
Jesus gave us His life as an example. Jesus was never sin-conscious but conscious of His Father's word, purpose, and instructions.
We are called to live in the spirit just like Jesus did, to live according to His image and likeness. If we follow these instructions, we would have no time to think about sin or occupy our minds with its issues.
Instead, we would be fully occupied living the victorious life Jesus has given to us, and by doing so, sin would not be found in us.
If we find ourselves struggling with sin, it is because we are occupying our minds with the seed of sin. We should be replacing it with the Seed that produces the life of God.
Let us therefore give no room for the enemy but give full attention to the abundance that God our Heavenly Father has provided for us in Christ Jesus.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
