Luke 8:7 NKJV
And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it.
Luke 8:7 NKJV
Jesus talked about the parable of the sower where the seeds fell among thorns and the thorns sprang up and choked the plants and died.
A sower who is not diligent or a sower who does not value the seed may casually cast the seeds without paying much attention and will cause the seeds to fall on thorns.
Everything God has given to us is a seed to produce. It is powerful to bring about a hundred fold blessings. The capacity of the seed is sure to produce but where it would be planted determines how well the seed is going to grow.
How we handle the word of truth is important.
How much we value God's truth is crucial, because if we value the seed, we would be very careful to examine the ground before planting.
Many take the seed but don't realise what type of ground they are. If we do not know what type of ground we are then we may not know if we are carrying issues in life that may choke the seed of God's word.
The way we cultivate our soil is by believing and agreeing to the works of Christ on the cross, identifying ourselves with the nature of God and bringing ourselves to imitate Him.
We will check our hearts and will uproot everything that may hinder the growth through the power of His Spirit.
Do we allow other things to grow alongside our lives? Do we tolerate sin and condone the works of the flesh? If we do, we will be choking the seed of God's word.
Let us treasure the promises of God's word and everything we hear. We need to make sure it falls on the right ground so that we will be successful in our lives.
Blessings,
