Mark 2:21 NKJV
one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse.
Mark 2:21 NKJV
Jesus said that even in the natural, no one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; if they do, it will surely tear, and it will be worse than before.
This is a powerful truth that we must acknowledge.
If that is so in the natural, how much more is it true in the supernatural? We cannot mix the new covenant with the old, we cannot mix the grace of God with the works of the flesh.
If we do, our state would be worse than before. Because our assurance would be compromised, our minds would be divided, and we would end up unproductive in our lives.
We need to be so focused on what Christ has achieved for us and walk in the path that He has prepared for us all. We need to be single-minded, setting our focus on Christ and fulfilling our purpose.
Many believers mix the two covenants and get mixed up in their walk as a believer and in the end, they start to blame God and become bitter.
Jesus said it would be worse if we tried to mix the old and the new. We cannot fix things with men's wisdom nor can we fabricate something to last unless it is given by God.
Jesus gave us all a new covenant to live in so that we can live in Him and walk confidently in all that He has done.
Let us take hold of the new that God has given, and start changing our lives according to the image of God every day.
Blessings,
