Psalms 13:5 NKJV
But I have trusted in Your mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
Psalms 13:5 NKJV
David is making a deliberate decision to trust in the Lord and bring his heart to rejoice in the promises of God.
While surrounded by news that was crushing and a situation that did not edify, David turned his attention to God and to His power.
David lamented in the beginning, but in the end, he realised what he needed to do. Bringing his thoughts into captivity to obedience to God's promises.
David chose to rejoice in the Lord.
He chose to set his heart and mind on his Deliverer.
We are surrounded by all kinds of bad news in the world, challenges in life and circumstances that can bring our souls down.
This is why we, too, like David, must bring our minds and hearts unto the Lord. Meditate on His goodness and His love towards us.
We, too, need to make a deliberate choice every day to delight ourselves in the Lord, setting our eyes upon Him and dwelling in His abundance of grace.
Today in Christ, we have been raised to holiness and righteousness and raised to sit together with Him so that we may reign with Him in this world.
Let us set our ears to God's word, God's love and God's power that is within us through Christ.
Blessings
