Romans 6:7, NKJV

For he who has died has been freed from sin."

Romans 6:7, NKJV

Paul explains in previous verses that Christ died in our place, taking our sins and curses upon Himself, and destroying satan's power through the cross.

Every punishment intended for us, Jesus endured for us, with us in mind.

Humanity was condemned to die and be destroyed, but thanks be to God that Christ took our punishment on His sinless body, freeing us from sin and the stains of sin.

As a result, Christ has presented us to our Father as a holy and blameless church. Since Christ has taken our sins and died for our punishment, we are no longer subject to sin's power nor should we participate in the filth from which we have been redeemed.

Our mindset must shift from a victim mentality to one of freedom from sin's power. Since we have died with Christ, we should no longer focus on our fleshly struggles. Instead, we should see ourselves as resurrected, living in His Spirit, and reflecting His likeness.

We were buried with Christ and died to satan's influence.

Now we should rise with Christ in resurrection power, living in the victory Christ has secured for us.

As we confess what Christ has done for us, see ourselves through the lens of His victory that Christ has won, and recognize our identity in God's image and likeness.

We will experience the new creation lifestyle God has purchased for us.

Let us remember that Christ took our fleshly nature and died so that we might rise in the power of His Spirit, living the resurrected life of Christ here on earth.

Blessings,

Ps Ambrose
