Hebrews 3:1, NKJV
Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus."
Hebrews 3:1, NKJV
The writer of Hebrews emphasizes that Jesus is far superior to Moses and the angels, as explained in the previous chapter.
Our confession, which encompasses believing, speaking, and living in Christ, creates an image of our position in Him. This confession gives us a clear vision of our destination.
If we confess to following the law, we will come under its jurisdiction. However, if we confess Christ and all He has accomplished for us, we will come under grace and live in His abundance.
Our confession of Christ's work reminds us that we are victorious, no longer living under the dominion of sin but in God's power to live holy and pleasing lives before our Father in Heaven.
It is crucial to be mindful of what we confess. We must ensure our confession aligns with what Christ has done for us. Our confession is not a means to obtain something from God, for we have already received everything from Him. Instead, we confess to bringing our hearts and minds into alignment, allowing what God has created to flow out from within us.
If our motivation for confession is to receive something from God, we have lost sight of our true identity.
As children of God, God has given to us the privilege and right to all His abundance. What we confess tells us what we have chosen to believe.
Therefore, it is essential to avoid being double-minded, standing between the old and new covenants.
Let us come before God as redeemed, holy, and pure individuals, confessing all that Christ has done for us. May we set the right image in our hearts of who we are in Christ.
Blessings,
