Psalms 27:3 NKJV
Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.
Psalms 27:3 NKJV
David proclaimed God above every circumstance that stood before his face. Though he beheld the natural circumstances that tried to bring terror but his shield is the Lord Almighty.
When David was surrounded, he did not deny the fact that the enemy surrounded Him, but David stood on the fact that will never change, that is, when God is on his side, no one can be against him.
David had an experiential knowledge of who God is. David's knowledgement of God is not just in his head, it is not about just learning and acquiring the knowledge of God but David really knew who God is. David is a man after God's heart.
David lived in God's truth and believed in the protection and the covenant God has given to him and to all the children of promise.
The Israelites were children of promise but only one, David stood up against Goliath and stood in the power of God.
Today, Christianity is becoming a religion that recites who God is but is never able to live out His power. We go through rituals and never build our lives to become what God has made us to be.
We worship a living God. We worship a God who HAS accomplished for us everything that is needed. We will be religious if we keep living in our old nature when the new has come.
God does not want us to have a form of godliness without power. When truth appears, we need to walk according to what has been revealed and not go back to what we were before.
Every word of God is power, every word of God is life to our body.
Every word of God is changing us to live in the glorious nature of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Are we confident in this? Are we confident in what Christ HAS done or do we still need God to do it again and again?
We need to start living in what Christ has done once and for all. Start walking in the power of His resurrection and that power is the only power that will move is our mountains that stands in the way of what God has called us to.
Fear is a sign of lack of confidence in God. Is a sign that we don't trust God's promises. When we try to fight the battle that is already won by God, we have to fight it in the flesh and we will be shaken.
Many believers pray from this position of fear, of lack of confidence and they do not put their complete trust in God, who has accomplished the work.
If David, who lived in the old covenant that was inferior, stood against Goliath, how much MORE should we who have God Himself dwelling in us?
Let us rise in confidence in what Christ has established for us, cultivate what He has given, live in what He has prepared and shine forth His glory forever.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
