Colossians 2:1 NKJV

For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh,

Colossians 2:1 NKJV

Paul was very concerned about the believers in Colosse and Laodicea, whether they were fully informed about Jesus Christ and His complete work on the cross. Many Colossians and Laodiceans wanted to mix faith and their own rituals.

Jesus paid it all for us on that cross and made us all pure and blameless before the Father in heaven. There is nothing more we can add to make it purer or more holy.

Paul's desire is that the believers will not have a religion but a relationship that He has given to all mankind. This relationship is a state of being and living in Christ's fullness.

If our enemy, satan, knows he cannot take us out, he will bring deception to us by deceiving us to try to attain with works what God has already given. Most believers are still wanting something more from Christ.

Christ is complete and those who have Christ are complete in Him. This complete work of Christ is sealed in our spirit. Our life is about taking what God has put in our spirit and training our soul and body to live in this new nature.

This is our new creation identity that Christ has purchased for us. Therefore, we don't live from our fleshly position but in our heavenly position which Christ established in our spirit.

People always react according to what they feel and have. But we need to start to learn to react according to who we have become as children of God.

In Christ, we are a new creation, and it is no longer we who live but Christ in us, the hope of glory.

Remember satan used the scriptures to bring Jesus to identify with the fallen nature, to identify with what we can attain, not already attained and to have it by earning it instead of knowing who we have become in God and have already attained it in Christ Jesus.

Paul knew if believers don't know this truth, they can easily get into a religious routine by praying, reading and studying without having the revelation that God the Holy Spirit wants to show us.

God doesn't want us to have a form of godliness without power, but God wants us to really live our lives with God's power, God's love and God's grace as an overcomer.

Let us take heed and know what God has already done for us so that we can live in Him and fulfill our assignments here on earth.

Blessings,

Ps Ambrose
