John 13:13 NKJV
You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am.
John 13:13 NKJV
After Jesus washed His disciples' feet, He sat down again and said You called me teacher, so I am. Then he told His disciples to do likewise.
Jesus is not setting up a ritual on how to wash feet when people get into leadership. He is showing that the motivation of the heart of the leader is to serve.
Our Father in heaven came to save us by giving Himself through Christ our Lord and chose to remain in us through His Spirit.
Jesus is teaching us about the attitude, the motives and the desire of a leader should be to serve and give the best to those we are serving.
Serve those whom God has brought into our lives that they may grow strong in Christ and stand firm in the truth of God's word.
We are all leaders in our own capacity and no one is exempt from being a leader. For there will always be someone younger than us who will look up to us.
Serving does not mean meeting the people's wants but the needs of the people. Many want something which is not necessary for their lives.
We bring those whom God has placed in our lives back to Him which is the ultimate destination for them to remain in.
As leaders, we don't set people up to meet our own pleasures but for God's purpose and according to God's plan.
It is a call to reflect Christ in our own lives, it is a call to walk as Christ walked on this earth with the power of God.
Jesus did not heal people for His own benefit. He healed them because He wants to take away things that are not supposed to be on His children.
Jesus is our Lord and He is our Teacher. Let us continue to behold Him and manifest Him in our daily lives.
Blessings,
