Romans 4:2 NKJV

For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

Romans 4:2 NKJV

Abraham the father of faith is a new covenant model revealed in the old testament. Before the law was established, Abraham believed God by faith.

Abraham prospered because of God and what God said about him. Abraham had a lineage because of God's word and through Abraham, all the nations have been blessed because of what God had spoken about him.

Therefore, there is nothing that Abraham can boast about except in God. His role as a blessed man is following God, taking every step according to what God had said and enjoyed the fruit of God's promises.

We as a new covenant believers are blessed in Christ to live by faith as a blessed children of God because that's what Christ has said and established.

There is absolutely nothing that we as a believer can boast about. If there is boasting in the work of the flesh, we have fallen from His perfection, fallen from His abundance.

To live under pride is choosing to live far below the life God had prepared for us. Pride is a clear indicator that we have moved away from what God had prepared.

Abraham's true humility is receiving the truth that he is the father of many nations when he can't even produce a child of his own.

Our true humility would be the same, that is to RECEIVE all that Christ has established for all mankind. Even though we are no where near achieving those things by our own strength.

Let us live by faith in Christ's fullness and in everything He has established for us.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
