James 2:4 NKJV
have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
James 2:4 NKJV
James showed believers the difference between godly judgment and the worldy judgment that takes place in the family of God. Sadly, this still happens because we don't truly understand Godly principles.
James is clearly pointing out that every one of us needs to see each other through the judgment that God has set for all mankind.
We are not to judge according to what we can see, what we know about the person or about their past, but to judge according to God's mercy and His purpose.
We don't set people or appoint people to leadership because of their earthly value, but according to what God has called them to do in His kingdom.
Our judgments of people will show under whose influence we serve. We do need to be discerning and be led by the Holy Spirit to know the right judgment that will benefit everyone in the community.
James stated that God has spread His grace and mercy across all humanity. It is up to everyone to receive that grace and lead their lives according to God's abundance.
We cannot treat people by their outward appearance, their wealth or their poverty, their past or even their future, but according to God's righteousness.
Let us all carry this wonderful, liberating power of God and keep lifting each other from the trap of the enemy so that all can enjoy the goodness of God.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
