I John 2:7 NKJV
Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.
I John 2:7 NKJV
John stated that this commandment to love one another is not something new. It was always the core message of the gospel: to love God and love one another.
God made mankind so that He could love them and for them to love one another. We are made to love God and love one another. A simple commandment that eliminates all evil by truly living in it.
It is not popular on the surface for many but it is truly a deep desire and longing that each one cannot do without.
When we truly love God, we take on His image and take on His likeness. The natural effect of loving God makes us love one another with the genuine love of God.
The new commandment is the word of Jesus. Having Jesus in our lives means we have received this unconditional love in our spirits.
When we believe it, speak it, and cultivate it daily in our lives, we will find that our whole being starts to manifest the nature of God's love.
When we speak things contrary to what God has spoken and given, we suppress the gifts, we give no room for them to grow, and we will find ourselves struggling to become what God has given.
The main key to start activating God's gift is that one must first BELIEVE. Be assured with confidence that we already have it.
We cannot produce something we don't believe in. So start with believing that we have within us the perfect love. Believe that God who is love is now dwelling in us.
Let us therefore believe that we have received the perfect love of God. We can love God and love one another because that is who we are.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
