But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.

It is a call to take our place as the sober person that Christ has made us to be. We are to be sober of who we are, sober of the words we speak, and be sober of our actions.

This is such an important part for believers growing in maturity. It tells us to be watchful, calm, and be in control of life in the light of Christ.

To put on the shield of faith speaks of our protection to live by faith. We do not use worldly knowledge to deal with our body and our well-being but by the faith of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Faith sees past our natural circumstances and is able to pull us through every tough situation.

We also need our minds to be in constant alignment with what Christ has accomplished in our lives. Our mind needs to be strong to remain in what Christ has done and not to be moved by anything.

It will be hard to change a mind that has made up its decision. Many lives are blessed or have a bad turn because of decisions in life.

When our mind is set in the right place, we will be able to direct our entire direction to succeed.

Let us continue to live as children of the light and shine God's glory in this world.
