Luke 6:48 NKJV
He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. Luke 6:48 NKJV
Jesus spoke about the importance of building a house that will stand the storms of life and test of seasons. Jesus described two types of people who built their houses. Both had the same Word. These speak about the abundance of God that was given to both of them. Both built their houses with the same Word but they had a different result. Jesus described that one built on sand and the other built on the rock. The only difference between the two people is this, ONE DID WHAT HE HEARD and the other one did not do what he heard. Those who hear the Word and do not do them are like those who build their house on the sand. When they heard the Word, they did not treasure it. They did not take time to dig deeper and lay that Word upon their heart and mind. But the one who does what he heard is likened to a man who heard it, took it and built upon it by doing what was spoken to him. Jesus is the manifested Word to all mankind. Jesus is the revelation to every believer. We need to take what Jesus has spoken and begin to build our lives by doing it so that we will not be found to be hearers only but doers of the word. When we choose to do what we have heard and what God is speaking to us, we will find ourselves strong in every storm of life. The stronger the storms hit us, the greater display will be the power of Christ in us. The world will stand in awe of the assurance of faith of the children of God. The world would see God's children stand on an unshakeable foundation that is Jesus Christ. Doing what Jesus had said will build our spiritual muscles. Stepping out in faith causes us to anchor on a solid foundation that Jesus has laid for us. Let us be doers of the word and not hearers only. Let us launch out in faith and do what Christ has spoken.
