By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.
Hebrews 11:22 NKJV
In this hall of faith chapter Joseph was mentioned because of his faith to give instructions on what to do with his body after his death.
Joseph believed that one day the children of Israel will settle in the land God had promised Abraham.
Therefore Joseph gave instructions that his body to be buried in the promised land when they eventually get there.
Joseph gave this instruction to his servants 60 plus years before Moses was born. There were no signs of someone to deliver them except God's word.
When the day came when Pharaoh was defeated and he told Moses to go, one dead wrapped body followed the crowd, Joseph's body.
When the children of Israel were celebrating their epic deliverance and making their move, Joseph's instruction was carried out.
A dead man's faith walked his dead body through 40 years in the wilderness, crossed the red sea, passed Moses generation, carried by Joshua's generation and finally fulfilled after over 140 years.
This is far beyond any thoughts of man that such a thing can happen, yet it happened by faith.
Joseph's faith was in the plan and purpose of God that God had for His children. When he aligned his faith according to God plan, the result was the manifestation of that faith.
If Joseph can put his faith in God's word and get the results, how much more we who live in Christ should walk by faith and see the manifestation of God's power.
Today in Christ, we walk by His faith, in what He has accomplished and by His command that will never pass away.
Let us walk by faith, seeing ourselves in the spirit living in what we have believed and magnify our Lord Jesus Christ.
