Matthew 21:23 NKJV
Now when He came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people confronted Him as He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority?”
Matthew 21:23 NKJV
The religious leaders questioned Jesus and wanting to know by whose authority Jesus is doing the work because they recognised that the natural man cannot do the things Jesus did.
They knew it had to be from God but because they were so set in their ways, they could not see the truth that is in the word of God that says about the Messiah.
They rejected John the baptist who came to make a way for Jesus and they rejected Jesus and all the works Jesus performed to confirm the word.
The religious spirit will always confront the true gospel of Christ. Its focus is to be magnified through the flesh instead of being magnified by the grace God has given.
Jesus faced persecution in the face of those who were teachers of the law but did not understand the true meaning in the spirit.
To be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace in the Lord.
Therefore we need to continue to preach the true gospel of Christ, liberating people from the bondage of satan.
Let the Holy Spirit of God lead our whole life so that we can effectively display Christ's love, power and peace to all mankind.
Many will ask by whose authority are we preaching the gospel, what qualifications do we have and so on. But we must be bold to do the work of Christ and set people free.
Jesus continued to preach, He continued to teach and He healed them. We too must continue to preach, teach and demonstrate the power of God in this world.
Let us stand strong to proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God until the end.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
