I Peter 5:5 NKJV
Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”
I Peter 5:5 NKJV
After giving instruction to the shepherd of the flock to shepherd them and to shepherd them as Christ did for all mankind. Peter continued to encourage all to submit to the elders.
Submission is protection, when we submit to one another, we protect each other from lies and accusations. We also protect ourselves from procrastination and doing the wrong things.
It takes humility to submit and it takes understanding to apply these principles so that we become an encouragement to one another.
It is important that we understand that each one always think they are right even though they are wrong, therefore in submission one to another, we will have clarity about what is of God.
The main things that will stop them to apply this principle is pride. Pride acknowledges only self and does not think that there is a need to submit.
Having godly leaders that have passion to see one excel in life is a good place to exercise submission.
We submit not to the person's age but their ability to shepherd and bring out the best in us.
We should not just blindly submit ourselves to anyone that tells us to submit but to those whom God has appointed and to those we can see the fruits of God's righteousness in their lives.
God's grace will always flow to those who are humble and to those who desire God.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
