Titus 1:10 NKJV

For there are many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,

Titus 1:10 NKJV

Paul wrote to Titus concerning the appointing of elders in the church. These are the characters that all believers should have and not just for choosing elders

Firstly insubordinate, not submitting to both appointed leaders and divine directions from the word of God. Paul said that many such are in the church.

Many have their own opinions and suggestions yet there is no fruit in their lives. We are called to submit, yield ourselves to the truth so that we can grow and become fruitful.

Many profess to have knowledge but are not able to live it out. This is because they don't intentionally work and submit tothe grace of God in their lives.

This will lead to idle talks, where we will start talking but not walking in the truth. Having a form of godliness but no power and saying the right thing but walk the wrong way.

We must plant God's truth into our lives daily. Taking the word of God and cultivating our lives by submitting to the truth. God's word is meant to germinate and shape our lives.

If we fail to do so, then we will end up as deceivers even though we call ourselves believers in Christ.

We are not called to be Christians but followers and disciples of Jesus Christ. It is not about a title but a lifestyle that reflects the amazing grace we have received in Christ.

We have to eliminate idle talk, change direction from being insubordinate and deceitful to being followers of Christ.

Let us rise up in the grace given to us and start cultivating our lives with the abundance Christ has blessed us with.

Blessings,

Ps Ambrose
