Acts 8:19 NKJV
saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 8:19 NKJV
Simon the sorcerer believed in Christ and saw the power of God manifested through the disciples and therefore He wanted it by demanding it.
Even though the gift of God is free, no man can demand it; it is not by any merits that we can have the gifts, but by believing that Christ has given them to us.
Simon the sorcerer may be looking for that power for his own personal gain and to have prominence, but every gift of God is a blessing, and it is meant to be a blessing to the entire body of Christ.
There are many lessons we can learn about the principles of God and nothing that is of God is selfish.
God gives generously to all who believe in Him and to those who live in God, they will be living as a giver just like Jesus.
It is by seeking God, seeking His kingdom and knowing Him that we flow in the power and love of God.
There are many seeking to serve for their personal gain, many seeking to serve for their name to be known and many do it out of insecurity.
All the ways of men will not reflect the true love and grace of God. But when one comes to know Jesus and begins to love Him wholeheartedly, they will start to flow out God's abundance.
We thank God for His amazing grace and His amazing love towards us He has granted us all things.
Let us keep trusting in what He has given and humbly follow Him in every area of our lives.
Blessings,
Ps Ambrose
