II Corinthians 5:9 NKJV
Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.
II Corinthians 5:9 NKJV
Our position in Christ is very crucial. Jesus started His ministry with power, signs and wonders after the Holy Spirit came upon Him at baptism. The voice of the Father saying "This is My Son, in whom I Am well pleased."
Paul taught the believers to take the same stand in the finished work of Christ, to present ourselves in Christ and to do it all as one who is pleasing to the Lord.
We do that by agreeing with the position Christ has made for us. Believing that we have been washed by His blood, called by His Name and set apart to declare His praises to the ends of the earth.
When we take this position as children of God who are pleasing to Him, our actions begin to follow. We will live a holy and pleasing life before the Father in heaven.
Paul says that he makes it his aim to walk before God and please Him. We should make it our aim to walk pleasing before God.
What we do and how we serve the Lord need to come from a place of rest in what Christ has done.
If we try to serve the Lord to earn righteousness and try to be pleasing by our own merits, we will fail and be discouraged.
But if we serve the Lord by His grace and through the power and love of Jesus, then we will be encouraged.
Let us start our daily lives by acknowledging what Christ has done and start walking in the life He has prepared for us.
Blessings,
