II Peter 1:7 NKJV
to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
II Peter 1:7 NKJV
Peter is teaching us that everything in life sharpens us to maturity in Christ so that we may show kindness to each other and, above all, to love each other.
The main point is very clear, and it is not difficult to understand, yet sometimes we miss out on doing it.
Many profess the faith, many are diligent in serving the Lord, many are faithful in their duties, and many persevere but still hold on to unforgiveness and hurt and don't show kindness or love to people.
The greatest commandment Jesus gave is to love God and to love one another. If we fail to live in these principles, our faith is of no value.
The value of our faith is in Jesus who loved us and gave His life for us. God demonstrates His love for us so that we can demonstrate it daily in our lives.
Kindness to each other brings healing and encouragement, and adding love is the ultimate healing to a broken heart.
When we are kind and loving, we display the goodness of God to each other.
Kindness and love are also to tell the truth, to correct and bring the right alignment to someone who is doing it wrong.
Kindness and love go out with boldness and say the right thing even though it may not look good on us.
But people who really love will tell the truth so that they can be corrected to shine even brighter for Jesus.
Let us display kindness and shine the love of Jesus to all around us.
Blessings,
Ps Ambrose
