Acts 2:32, NKJV
This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.
Acts 2:32, NKJV
Peter, having witnessed Jesus' life, character, and teachings firsthand, became a transformed individual. He had many experiences with Christ, including denying knowing Jesus because of fear.
But after experiencing the promised Holy Spirit, Peter boldly declared that he and others were witnesses to Christ's resurrection.
When Peter stated that they were witnesses to the resurrection, he spoke from a place of experiential knowledge, having witnessed both Christ's physical resurrection and his own personal transformation inwardly to a new life in Christ. Peter saw the fulfillment of Christ's teachings and declarations unfold before his eyes.
As a witness for Christ, Peter's testimony was empowered by the Holy Spirit. Jesus had promised that upon receiving the Holy Spirit, believers would become His witnesses to all.
To be an effective witness for Christ requires two essential components: knowing Christ and knowing the Holy Spirit.
By fixing our eyes on Jesus, living in Him, and being led by His Spirit, we too can become powerful witnesses for Jesus Christ in this world.
We have all been called by Jesus and given the opportunity to live in the Holy Spirit. As we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us into fellowship with Jesus, we will become powerful witnesses for Christ.
We can become effective witnesses to Christ's love, mercy, peace, and grace towards all humanity.
As we fellowship with Christ, His Spirit, and His body, the church, we become the extension of His hands, feet, and heart to everyone.
Let us cultivate this fellowship so that we may be effective witnesses for Christ.
Blessings,
Ps Ambrose
