II Timothy 2:9 NKJV

for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained.

II Timothy 2:9 NKJV

There are many powerful revelations and insights that Paul taught Timothy, his spiritual son, so that Timothy would not be taken aback or retreat from being bold in preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.

Here Paul shares his life experience that the truth he preached has set people free but has made him suffer persecution and being called an evil doer.

This persecution did not come from non-religious people but came from the religious people of his day. The very people who were supposed to teach the gospel of the kingdom of God have caused him to be chained.

But Paul showed Timothy that they can chain him but the gospel of the kingdom of God cannot be chained.

When the truth of God reigns in our mind and soul, there is nothing that can stop us from delivering the message of hope to the world.

Therefore, when we are persecuted, judged, or even taken into prison for the sake of the gospel, we ought to keep preaching Jesus and the resurrection power that is in us.

We must not let offence pull us down; let no backbiting or slandering be something we consider, but Jesus Christ and the truth that sets people free.

Every person who preaches the truth that liberates people may face some form of persecution. The enemy, the devil hates when people are free and liberated in God's love.

Let us be strong in the Lord, don't let anything disqualify us. Let not our past and even our current state of being disqualify us because Jesus has qualified us all in Him.

Let us be bold to proclaim the truth that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Live in the blessings,

Ps Ambrose
